Purpose
We're doing this to...
Educate Vancouverites on Hong Kong's history and current situation.
Relations between Hong Kong and China are tense, and it's only getting worse. What happened? We'll explore this together through the Ten Years film and subsequent dialogue and reflection session.
Reflect on God's heart for Hong Kong and China.
We believe that God is living and actively involved in the affairs of Hong Kong, China, and the world. He is especially close to the oppressed and is actively working toward their justice.
Encourage Christians to actively participate in pursuing peace in Hong Kong.
God calls us to be peacemakers and pursuers of justice. We'll examine ways we can constructively participate in God's work in Hong Kong.
Organizing Team
Ten Years: A Community Screening is organized by The Ten Years Vancouver Workshop, which is made up of clergymen and laity from across the Lower Mainland. We (the team) have a interest in Hong Kong's political affairs and are keenly aware of the special connection between Hong Kong and Vancouver.
